What do Tim Lincecum, Shane Victorino, and Jason Bartlett all have in common?

They're all of Filipino descent and are playing for a shot at this year's World Series!

Born to a Filipino mother, Tim "the Freak" will be the starting pitcher today for the first game of the division series between the San Francisco Giants and the Atlanta Braves. He is a two time Cy Young award winner and has played in every All-Star Game since 2008.

Shane Victorino, who is half Filipino and half Portugese (via epicanthus.net), went 2-4 yesterday including 2 RBIs and 1 Run to help the Philadelphia Phillies hold a 4-0 no-hitter win against the Cincinnati Reds. The All-Star centerfielder has been to the World Series twice (2008 and 2009) where they won it in 2008.

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett was born in Mountainview,Ca and gets his Filipino from his mother's side. The 2009 All-Star went 1-3 as they lost the first game of the divisional series against the Texas Rangers yesterday. He played in the 2008 World Series and hopes to get there again this year.
